Founding President and Treasurer

Anil Raghuvanshi is the Founding President of ChildSafeNet. An internationally recognised child protection specialist, researcher and advocate, he has more than 35 years of experience advancing child rights, digital safety and child wellbeing in nine countries across Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and Africa with UNICEF, ILO, UN DPKO, Save the Children, and Plan International. As the Executive Deputy Director of ECPAT International, he contributed to the UN Secretary-General’s Study on Violence against Children.

A member of the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) Global Advisory Group, he has led more than a dozen research studies on issues including online child sexual exploitation and abuse, online child grooming, parenting in the digital age, technology-facilitated violence and the impact of generative AI on children.

An MBA from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, he is a member of the SAFE Council and the WePROTECT Global Alliance Expert Steering Committee. He has played a leading role in promoting Safer Internet Day and the Stop.Think.Connect campaign in Nepal while developing innovative resources for advocacy, research and capacity building. A respected trainer, writer, speaker and communication strategist, he continues to shape international dialogue and inspire collective action to ensure every child can thrive safely in the digital world.

President

Rajesh Aryal is an international development professional with more than 25 years of leadership experience across Asia, Africa, Europe and post-conflict settings. His expertise includes governance, democracy, public-sector strengthening, international development cooperation, financial management, operations and institutional capacity building.

He has worked closely with major bilateral and multilateral partners, including USAID, the European Union, the United Nations, the US Department of State and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the UK. He has also collaborated extensively with government institutions, NGOs, international organisations and private-sector stakeholders. His strengths include strategic leadership, diplomacy, negotiation, cross-cultural engagement and representation in complex political environments. Rajesh holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Political Science from Luther College, an MBA from Metropolitan State University, and a master’s degree in International Development and Social Change from Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts.

He served as General Secretary of ChildSafeNet until 16 July 2026. He is also serving as Vice President of the Rotary Club of Dillibazar and is a former Treasurer of the Returned UN Volunteers’ Association Nepal and a Life Member of the Godawari Alumni Association. He also writes on governance issues and has a keen interest in football.

Vice-President

Pushkar Mathema, a resident of the central Kathmandu, has more than 30 years of experience as a journalist with the first and the state-owned daily newspaper, Gorkhapatra. He served twice as the Acting Chief Editor of the Gorkhapatra daily. He also served as the Acting Chief Editor of The Rising Nepal, the English daily, published by Gorkhapatra Corporation.  Also, he served as the Chief Editor of Yuwa Manch and Muna, Gorkhapatra Corporation's monthly magazines for youth and children, respectively. He also served as the coordinator of www.gorkhapatraonline.com. He has written over 1,500 features and reports in various newspapers and magazines and has translated books. He was awarded the Pradhan Journalism Award (2015) and Environmental Journalism Award (1995).

Pushkar, an MBA and a seasoned media expert and trainer, has also served as a media and communication consultant for various UN agencies and international organizations. He has a deep interest in theatre and is a well-recognized figure in the field of acting and direction. He has bagged a number of awards as the best actor and best director.

General Secretary

Jasmine Rajbhandary has been working at the World Bank as a Senior Social Protection Specialist for over 17 years, supporting the governments of Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal in providing more efficient social protection services for vulnerable people and addressing youth employment challenges. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked at the UK Department for International Development, Save the Children and a local human rights NGO in Nepal. Her efforts focused on working with vulnerable communities, children and women, and helping to develop processes and services for their inclusion and improved life outcomes.

She was born in Lesotho and grew up in various parts of Africa and the United States. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics and sociology from Binghamton University, New York. After completing her master’s degree in international development at American University in Washington, DC, she returned to Nepal in 1997. She previously served as a member of the ChildSafeNet Executive Committee from the organisation's inception.

Secretary

Gaurab Lal Maskay is an editorial and communications professional with over three years of experience in journalism, publishing and digital content. His work has spanned both print and online media, where he has developed expertise in writing, editing, proofreading, content planning and publication management. He has coordinated magazine production, managed editorial workflows, overseen social media content and created written content across a wide range of topics.

His background also includes translation, SEO-focused writing and graphic design, allowing him to approach content from both editorial and digital perspectives. He holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Jain University, Bangalore, and is currently pursuing an MBA at The British College, Kathmandu.

He is passionate about producing clear, accurate and engaging content and enjoys combining strong editorial judgement with strategic communication to create work that informs, connects with audiences and upholds high professional standards.

Executive Member

Parit Shrestha, a resident of Kathmandu, was raised and educated in India. He is an expert in computer motion graphics and digital marketing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Management from India and is the founder and the first CEO of a digital marketing company Red Circle Creative Solutions. Parit has expertise in motion graphics and in digital marketing. He is soft-spoken and has very good people skills. Parit is an accomplished guitarist and an aspiring singer/composer.

Executive Member

Riju Shrestha, born in Kirtipur, Nepal, has a master’s degree in Social Work with a major in Mental Health and Psychosocial counselling. She believes that children and young people should be able to consume the internet in a way that benefits them. She is highly committed as the Secretary at ChildSafenet. She uses her experience and familiarity with the digital domain to play her part in making the internet a safer place for children and young people. She also heads Red Circle Creative Solutions, a digital marketing agency as the CEO and specializes in content creation.
